Fun in Florida (Part 4)!

We said good bye to Grandpa and Grandma Suzanne and started our journey home.    This time we were going a little further west to make the two day trip a little more equal.

 After about 6 hours we arrived at our hotel in Pensacola, Florida.  Pensacola was nice, but nothing like our private, non-commercialized stay at WaterColors.  We opted for a regular hotel at a Marriott chain. Again, it was nice, but we have never stayed together as a family in one room. (on all our other Sea World and Dallas trips we usually opt for a Residence Inn, so there is a living room, kitchen, separated from the bedroom by a door).

We spent Thursday afternoon playing in the sand and taking a quick dip in the pools.  

 Then the nice hotel lady recommended a fun place for dinner, Flounders. You are basically sitting outside under a covering.  There is sand everywhere and a playground about 5 feet from your table.  So while waiting for dinner and after dinner the girls got to play.  They have super yummy fish and a lot of it!  The girls and Kevin relaxing after dinner.

 The next morning we woke up early and hit the beach again.  We buried Maddie's legs and decorated the mound with shells - something the beach at WaterColors didn't have.

 The water was still a little cool, but there was this little inlet of water.  Maddie was brave enough to go and enjoy splashing in it!

 She really got into playing in the water and Allie enjoyed the sand more.

 After a fun morning at the beach, we cleaned up in our hotel room and hit the road at noon.  We had thought about stopping somewhere in Louisiana, but figured it made more sense to just drive the 9 hours and make it home to our own beds.  Thankfully we did, because Saturday May 27th there were horrible storms in the Houston area with flooding and road closures and we wouldn't have been able to get home.  Praise God for an awesome and safe trip!
Not sure where we will be heading next, but we are looking forward to it!
