Rather than carving pumpkins, I opted for the easier route of coloring them with sharpies. We showed the girls different Jack O Latern options. After they chose, we drew on the pumpkin, and let them color everything in. We all enjoyed and there was no mess to clean-up. Maybe carving next year....
